How Farm Capital works

One investment case, followed from a cooperative's first sign-up to the end of life of the equipment. Nine kinds of sign-in take part, and each one sees only its own part of the work.

The flow, step by step

The status is what the case shows on screen at that point.

  1. 1

    Apply

Draft → Submitted Moved on by: Client

The applicant signs up and describes the project. On submitting, the platform lists anything missing and quietly checks the business registration. If the registry cannot be reached, nothing is blocked.

    Also involved: Advisor

  2. 2

    Screen and route

Screening → Pending provider Moved on by: Reviewer

A reviewer checks the case is complete. If not, it goes back to the applicant with a question. If yes, it is routed to a qualified supplier that serves the district and the technology.

    Also involved: Client Advisor Compliance

  3. 3

    Design and quote

Pending provider → Quotation uploaded Moved on by: Supplier

The supplier sizes the system and prepares a quotation, usually with an alternative option such as a larger tank with battery backup.

    Also involved: Reviewer

  4. 4

    Review the quotation

Quotation uploaded Moved on by: Reviewer

The reviewer compares the options and asks for changes or approves one. The approved option becomes the case's eligible cost.

    Also involved: Supplier

  5. 5

    Build the finance stack

Finance stack → Submitted to financier Moved on by: Advisor

The advisor assembles grant, contribution and loan against the eligible cost. Problems are flagged before submission. Each institution then receives its own dossier.

    Also involved: Client Financier

  6. 6

    Decide

Decision recorded → Remediation → Contracted Moved on by: Financier

Each institution decides for itself. If part of the money is missing, the case goes to remediation until the gap is closed, and then to contract.

    Also involved: Advisor Client

  7. 7

    Release the money

Contracted → Disbursed Moved on by: Financier

The financier sets milestones. When the first is released, the supplier is told to start.

    Also involved: Supplier Client

  8. 8

    Install and inspect

Installed → Commissioned Moved on by: Supplier

The supplier installs and registers the equipment. Support requests a commissioning inspection. The inspector logs defects, the supplier fixes them, and the system is accepted with a certificate.

    Also involved: Inspector Support Client

  9. 9

    Operate and close

O&M active → End of life Moved on by: Client

Maintenance is scheduled and tickets are answered. The supplier scorecard builds from real behaviour. At end of life, each asset is repurposed, taken back or recycled.
